The founders of HiHR had a simple plan in mind when they launched the company in 2009—provide custom HR solutions based on what’s best for the client. A basic concept, but very different from the traditional “one size fits all” approach commonly used in the industry. This meant rewriting the rules and offering choices–not just the typical “bundled” package of services. When other HR firms held fast to an “all or nothing” model, HiHR became a leader in Hawaii by listening to clients, responding to their needs, and offering flexible HR services.  In order to meet the evolving and sometimes complicated needs of our clients, we continue to innovate new services and delivery options, helping our clients compete and succeed in a challenging marketplace.     As the Chief Operating Officer, Trisha helms all operations at HiHR including HiHR's payroll and benefit administration services as well as the company's internal audit function, 401(k) compliance, and health care initiatives.     As Corporate Counsel and V.P. of Human Resources for HiHR, Kalani brings years of litigation, business, and compliance experience to the team.     John ‘JD’ DeMarco leads the business development management team and oversees all new business development, community relations, and company networking opportunities. He offers eighteen years of management experience most recently working for Jamba Hawaii as the Director of Operations before joining the team at HiHR. His positive energy is contagious, and his intricate knowledge of both the clients' needs and their business requirements make him a vital member of the HiGroup team. JD is an avid paddler and when he’s not out meeting clients you can find him hiking and enjoying beach activities with his family.

    As manager of HiHR’s Maui office, Bernie brings her depth of experience and the award-winning service that HiHR is known for to all of our clientele in Kahului, Wailuku, and all points in between. Bernie and the Maui staff are dedicated to providing top-notch service to Hawaii companies throughout the islands and the community they support.
